Based in New York, Portable Magazine features the latest fashion, film, art and culture and recently visited Nina Z at her home/office/studio in Brooklyn. Jenna Hawkins from Portable had a chat to Nina about her background in fashion and the arts and the beginnings of NINA Z. Nina also tells of her recent travels to South Africa and styling of performer Solange Knowles, actress Jessica Chastain and work with artist Mickalene Thomas.

where we found her: in a parking garage in Chelsea on her way to her usual Thursday gallery round. click clock click clock.. did we just hear the unique sounds of clogs? we quickly turned around and there she was our cloggie of the week magically standing like a city elf surrounded by a forest of cars wearing socks and sandals. could this be the intro to the new series “clogs & the city “? in btw, just for clarification, we don’t particularly care for cars (unless it’s a vintage green jaguar or wood panel clad buick), but next to clogs we do.
